Ind vs WI: India name 12-member squad ahead of 1st T20I, include Krunal Pandya, Manish Pandey

Rohit Sharma led India have named their 12-member aquad for the first T20I of the series against West Indies. Krunal Pandya is likely to make his debut in the first game of the series.India have named their 12-member squad for the first T20I of the three-match against West Indies to be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday. Both Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik have been named in the squad but Rishabh will be keeping the wickets, which might see Karthik warm the bench. All-rounder Krunal Pandya has also been named in the 12-member squad and is likely to make his international debut as he is the sole all-rounder in the squad. He might team up with Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav for the spin duties. A limited-overs specialist, Krunal has played 62 T20s in which he has scored 967 runs and has scalped 51 wickets.

KL Rahul will be taking the place of Virat Kohli at number 3. The regular Indian skipper was rested for the series with Rohit Sharma taking over the captaincy duties. Along with Rahul, Manish Pandey has also been named in the 12-member squad. Both the players sat in the sidelines in the five-match ODI series but played India's last league stage game of Asia Cup game against Afghanistan under MS Dhoni.

Should India go with three pacers, Khaleel Ahmed would play his first T20I. He was impressive in the ODI series where he picked up 7 wickets and proved lethal with his pace and swing.

 Washington Sundar, Shreyas Iyer, Shahbaz Nadeem and Umesh Yadav are the four players who didn't find a place in the squad for the opening game of the T20I series.
